Linking in with 6th January’s Irish Times article by Mary Minihan, this is the list of TDs elected in 2007, who retired during the lifetime of the current Dail or who will be retiring at the next general election. Including Jim McDaid and Martin Cullen, 38 of the TDs who were elected in 2007 have retired or will be retiring at the next election, amounting to 22.9% of the TDs elected at that contest. 6 of the retiring TDs are female (15.8% of the total number of retiring TDs and 27.3% of the females elected at the 2007 contest) and 32 are male (22.2% of males elected at 2007 election – 21.7% if McDaid/Cullen not included).
