Adrian Kavanagh, 19th March 2019
The groups/parties listed here are smaller parties that had – at least by the middle of March 2019 – selected only a relatively small number of Local Elections 2019 candidates, including Aontú, the Workers Party, Renua, Eirigi and Republican Sinn Féin. As such – and mainly due to the time pressures being experienced by the owner/creator of this website – candidate selections for all of these parties will be logged in this “all in” post.
The candidates listed as Aontú candidates currently account for fifty three candidates (sixteen are female – 30.2%).
The candidates listed as Renua Ireland candidates currently account for twenty eight candidates (nine are female – 32.1%).
The candidates listed as Workers Party candidates currently account for seven candidates (three are female – 42.9%).
The candidates listed as Housing Rights & Reform Alliance candidates currently account for six candidates (two are female – 33.3%).
The candidates listed as Direct Democracy Ireland candidates currently account for six candidates (all male).
The candidates listed as Eirigi candidates currently account for three candidates (all male).
The candidates listed as Workers and Unemployed Action candidates currently account for three candidates (one is female – 33.3%).
There is one United People candidate listed here (male), who is contesting two constituencies.
There is one Irish Democratic Party candidate listed here (male), who is contesting two constituencies.
While a number of the candidates in this grouping would appear likely to be first-time candidates, it does also include a number of more experienced candidates, including a number of incumbents that are mainly associated with the Workers Party and Republican Sinn Féin, as well as candidates who won Council seats in 2014 (or were subsequently co-opted on to the Council) as independents/for other parties, but then went on to later join new parties such as Aontú or Renua.
The candidates that have been officially selected across these different groupings include:

Further additions will be made to this candidate listing as, and when, further candidate selections take place and – naturally – when I become aware of these.
Gavin Mendel Gleason was initially selected to contest Cabra-Glasnevin for the Workers Party, but later stood down and was replaced as the party candidate by Cormac Newton. Lorraine Hennessy had been selected to run for the Workers Party in Clondalkin and Dick Roche has been selected as the Workers Party candidate for Tramore-Waterford City West, but both these candidates subsequently withdrew from the electoral contest.
Keith O’Toole was selected to contest Galway City West for Aontú, but later withdrew from the election contest.
Amanda Gaffney was listed as being a Renua Ireland candidate for Clondalkin on the party website, but did not appear on the ballot paper.
Cathy Gaffney was selected by Aontú to contest the Ballina electoral area, but did not subsequently appear on the ballot paper.

Thanks Ciaran – was down as “Lucan/Palmerstown” on WP website, so guessed incorrectly that this referred to Lucan, not P-Fonthill. Will amend
